Full, Part & Grass Livery in Midlothian

We offer Full, Part and Grass Livery at Cousland. Our main shed has 17 beautiful 8x10 stables and our hay shed has 18 stables all with automatic drinkers. We have 2 spacious tack rooms with a storage area upstairs in each shed. Our facilities are of the highest standard and designed for the comfort and safety of horses and riders.

Daily care and training are supported by an indoor school 27×40m, a floodlit outdoor arena, working hunter set, horse walker (5-horse, variable speeds), round pen, hot-water wash bay, stabling for 35 plus 6 outdoor shavings boxes, 2 isolation boxes, lorry/trailer parking, and access to excellent hacking on and off road. The XC training field (designed by Richard Johnston-Smith) adds varied combinations and is targeted for October 2025 completion.

Livery & Pricing

  • Full, Part, and Grass Livery.

  • Hard feed; hay/haylage; turnout/bringing in; mucking out and bedding; attendance at vet/farrier/physio; worming (incl. quarterly worm egg counts; note WEC & wormer are billed as extra); and shared use of the schools.

  • £655 per calendar month (price as of Sept 2025).

  • The same as Full Livery five days a week, with Saturday/Sunday DIY.

  • Storage, running water, a large field shelter, and 45 acres to roam in a mixed herd with natural shelter (incl. an old walled garden/orchard). £150 pcm (price as of Sept 2025).

  • For an additional cost we provide the following services:

    Specific feed supplements or balancers. We can order these as part of our feed order and include the cost on your invoice.

    • Exercising of horse by one of the team

    • Cleaning of tack

    • Grooming

    • Clipping

    • Mane and tail pulling

    • Show preparation including washing and plaiting
